'Black With Sugar' presents images made in New York City between 2013 and 2017. Originally made as a single artist proof in 2017, this work is an excerpt from a larger archive spanning the same period. In working across that body of work, I first understood image arrangement as a kind of poetic language — each photograph in conversation with the next, producing rhythm, tension, and resolution. The meaning lives not in any single frame but in the intervals between them.
